According to recent data from the European Commission, the average yield of potato cultivation in the EU during the 2023 campaign is 34,400 kilograms per hectare, which is 3% lower than the previous year but 1% higher than the average of the last five years. Germany and France have seen improvements in their potato yields, with Germany experiencing a 3% increase compared to the last five years and France seeing a 5% improvement compared to 2022. However, the Netherlands and Poland have experienced significant reductions in yields, with Poland seeing the biggest decrease of 13% compared to 2022. Spain has also seen a reduction in average yield by 8% compared to the period from 2018 to 2022. Portugal, on the other hand, has seen a 2% increase in average yield compared to the last five years but a 1% decrease compared to 2022.
