The state of Mato Grosso has declared a zoosanitary emergency for 180 days in response to cases of avian influenza found in Brazil. Despite having no cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza, the state is taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of poultry health and prevent the spread of the virus. Mato Grosso, among the top ten Brazilian states that export chicken meat, aims to protect its poultry industry and maintain its poultry product exports.
