Brazil is on high alert for avian flu, with the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) distributing a biosafety manual and recommending a ban on non-staff visits to aviaries. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) has also stressed the importance of prevention protocols. In January, Brazil achieved a record export volume of 420.9 thousand tons, a 20.6% increase from the same period last year. There are currently over 40 countries experiencing active outbreaks of avian flu.
