Argentina has seen a spread of H5 avian flu across 12 of its 24 provinces, with a total of 63 outbreaks detected and fundedraising efforts to contain the disease. The first case was reported in Jujuy province on February 15, and the outbreak has affected various bird species in commercial farms. The National Service of Health and Food Quality of Argentina (Senasa) has implemented prevention and surveillance measures, including reinforced border controls, and recommended hygiene and biosecurity measures for the productive sector. The government has also banned exhibitions, fairs, and other bird-related events and invested 1 billion pesos in Senasa to control the disease.
