Baja California has been chosen to host the 43rd World Congress of Vine and Wine in late 2022, with the support of both the federal and state governments. The event is expected to attract over 1,500 national and international guests from 43 countries and will focus on the exchange of ideas in the agro-industrial sector. The selection of Baja California follows a 10% annual growth in Mexico's industrial grape production from 2018 to 2020, leading to the production of over 36 million liters of wine and various derivatives. The congress is projected to generate an economic spill of around 3,600 million pesos and will be accompanied by cultural activities, including the Day of the Dead festivities.
