(Agraria.pe) Ecuadorian banana exports between January and May 2023 reached 162,837,599 boxes, registering an increase of +2.96% compared to the 158,158,275 boxes dispatched in the same months of the previous year. Of the total dispatched in the first five months of this year (162,837,599), 30.93% were destined for the European Union, being the main destination market; 22.84% towards Russia; 13.93% towards the Middle East; 9.07% to the United States; 6.38% towards the Southern Cone, 5.05% towards East Asia; 4.96% towards Africa; 2.91% towards Central Asia; 1.41% towards Eastern Europe; 1.25% to the United Kingdom; 0.85% to Oceania (New Zealand); 0.37% to EFTA (Norway); 0.005% to Canada; and 0.05% to other markets. The main increases in exports are reflected in the European Union (+18.11%); Russia (+9.90%); United States (+6.88%); United Kingdom (+20.08%); Africa (+3.31%); Central Asia (+12.56%); Oceania (+12.64%).
