The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) marks July 25 as the International Day of Family Farming to highlight the vital role of small farmers in supppling ingredients for the food and brewing industries. The National Union of the Beer Industry (SINDICERV) and major brewers like Ambev and Heineken are supporting family farming through sustainable practices and certifications, such as Regenerative Agriculture and the SAI Platform's Agricultural Sustainability Assessment (FSA) program, to ensure a steady supply of quality ingredients, enhance the ecosystem, and improve the socioeconomic status of rural producers.
