A collaboration agreement has been established in Adıyaman, Turkey, involving the Nuts Producers Association, the Besni Almond Producers' Association, the Nutmeg Research Institute, and the Turkish Beekeepers' Association, aimed at enhancing honey quality and yield and improving fruit flower fertilization. The agreement encourages beekeepers to place hives in almond orchards, with the garden owner compensating them 70 TL per hive. This initiative, the first of its kind in Turkey, seeks to increase almond production efficiency and provide financial support to beekeepers, with Adıyaman setting a goal of 100,000 hives. The province, known for its significant almond production, already has over 75,000 hives, leading to the production of 764,300 kilograms of honey in 2021.
