Brazil celebrates World Chocolate Day as the 7th largest cocoa producer and 7th largest exporter of cocoa and its derivatives. In 2021, the country exported over 88,000 tons of chocolate and cocoa derivatives, generating $226 million. The main destination for Brazilian chocolate is Argentina, followed by the United States and Chile. Three Brazilian cocoa producers were recognized among the 50 best in the world at the Cocoa of Excellence Awards in 2021. The Brasil Sweets & Snacks sector project, developed by ApexBrasil and Abicab, promotes the internationalization of Brazilian chocolate and cocoa, generating immediate business revenue at international fairs and expectations for future business. The Export Qualification Program (PEIEX) also helps companies stand out and reach new markets.
