The Brazilian state of Goiás saw a 2.5% increase in pig slaughter in 2022, according to the Quarterly Animal Slaughter Survey by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The state broke its own record by slaughtering over two million pigs, contributing to Brazil's national record of 56.2 million pigs slaughtered, marking a 5.9% increase from 2021.
