Poland: Carrots and onions become more expensive

Maciej Kmera admits that the prices of onions and carrots on the Bronisze wholesale market are rising. What about potatoes? - When it comes to domestic vegetables, we receive signals that onions and carrots are getting more expensive. Onion prices reach PLN 2.5/kg, which means a double increase compared to the previous year. Carrot exceeds PLN 1.3/kg, which means that it is already 50 groszy more expensive than a year ago - says Maciej Kmera, an expert on the Bronisze wholesale market. The situation in domestic potato trade is stable. - They still have high quality, so customers do not miss domestic potatoes. In January, the situation is slightly different, the potatoes lose their quality, which results in more imports from Western Europe, most often from the Benelux countries.
