According to the forecast of FAS USDA experts, in 2026/27 MY, rapeseed production in India will grow by 2% compared to the previous season to 12.1 million tons, while soybean production will decrease by 3% to 10.35 million tons. The total oilseed crop will amount to 41 million tons. Indian farmers are reducing the area planted with soybeans due to low prices and are switching to more profitable crops, so for the second consecutive year, rapeseed remains the main oilseed crop in the country.
