The Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Mersin, Turkey, has distributed 6,000 carob saplings to 60 farmers as part of the 'Miracle of the Red Soils Carob' project. The distribution was aimed at increasing the carob production area in Tarsus by 300 decares, as currently only 100 decares is used for carob cultivation. The ceremony was attended by local officials and AK Party Mersin Deputy Ali Cumhur Taşkın.
