Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, is increasing its exports of Cheongsong apples to Southeast Asia to strengthen its position and brand value in the face of climate change and potential competition from apple production in Gangwon-do. The county has obtained a quota for exporting 300 tons of apples to Indonesia and has already exported 30 tons of apples and 15 tons of apple juice. Cheongsong County plans to expand its apple exports to more than 10,000 tons and has implemented measures such as establishing a legal foundation, developing new packaging, and expanding subsidies for farm household shipments.
