Cheorwon-gun, a county in Gangwon-do, South Korea, has begun harvesting 80 tons of Hometown Chalk Rice seeds at a 15-hectare plantation in Oji-ri, Dongsong-eup. The seeds will be processed and supplied to 300 farmers participating in a contract cultivation complex next year. The county is pursuing a local specialization project to develop Hometown Chalk Rice as a brand, aiming to improve farmers' income through the supply of high-quality seeds and optimal agricultural technologies.
