Portugal: Cherry campaign is expected to be one of the most productive in the last 3 decades

In cherry, the development conditions in the main producing regions were different and, consequently, the expected productivity differs between them. Globally, productivity should be around 3.9 tons per hectare, a value that should position this campaign as one of the most productive in the last three decades. In Ribadouro, the orchards have a good vegetative aspect and most of the varieties are in the phenological stage of the end of flowering/setting of the fruits. Due to the fact that these phases took place without precipitation, the first observations point to a higher load of fruit set than the previous season and a consequent increase in productivity (+10%).
