Brazil: Chicken meat exports increased by 2.1% in August

According to data from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Brazilian exports of chicken meat, including fresh and processed products, totaled 446.8 thousand tons in August. This number represents an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period of the previous year, when exports reached 437 thousand tons. Export revenue in August reached US$831 million, a reduction of 9.9% compared to the same period in 2022, when revenue of US$922.1 million was recorded. In the year to date, from January to August, chicken meat exports totaled 3.508 million tons, which represents an increase of 7.4% compared to the first eight months of the previous year, when 3.266 million tons were exported. In terms of revenue in dollars, the accumulated increase in 2023 was 4.8%, with a total of US$6.858 billion this year, compared to US$6.542 billion in the same period in 2022.
