The Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies of Chile (Odepa) has released a report indicating a rise in fruit exports from January to November 2021, with a total of 3.24 million tons exported, valued at USD 6,480 million. This represents a 3.7% increase in volume and a 5.4% increase in value compared to the same period in the previous year. The report highlights the significance of fresh and processed fruit exports, with fresh fruit accounting for 70% of the total value and dried fruits contributing to 10%. Notably, cherry exports saw a dramatic increase, while table grape exports decreased. Blueberries, apples, and walnuts were among the top exports for fresh and dried fruits, respectively. Processed fruit exports also rose by 6.5% in volume and 13.5% in value, with a focus on frozen, dehydrated, canned, and juiced fruits. Olive oil exports were particularly notable, showing a increase in shipments to the US.
