China will impose tariffs of up to 11.7% on several types of European dairy products following the conclusion of an anti-subsidy investigation regarding the EU's financial support for agricultural producers, reports Euractiv. The investigation, which began in August 2024, aimed to determine whether subsidies granted under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), as well as other types of payments, including payments for environmental practices, were distorting competition and had harmed Chinese producers. According to the list, tariffs of 11.7% will apply to most exporters, while over 50 companies will benefit from a lower rate of 9.5%.
