The Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock Quarantine Headquarters in South Korea has successfully negotiated the export quarantine for Korean tangerines to New Zealand, opening up the market for varieties such as Onju Mandarin, Hallabong, and Cheon Hye-hyang. This makes Korean citrus fruits the third item to be exported to New Zealand following pears and grapes. The Quarantine Headquarters will now develop the Quarantine Guidelines for Exporting Korean Tangerines to New Zealand. The head of the Plant Quarantine Department at the Quarantine Headquarters, Hong Seong-jin, has expressed plans to seek out more export items to expand the exports of domestic agricultural products and develop new markets.
