Jeju Island and the Agricultural Cooperative Federation are taking measures to prevent overproduction of wintering vegetables, particularly carrots, due to concerns about a significant increase in cultivation area. The price of carrots rose last year due to a decrease in production caused by typhoon damage, leading to a higher planting area this year. To prevent oversupply and price declines, Jeju Island and Jeju Agricultural Cooperatives are encouraging farmers to voluntarily reduce their cultivation area and extending the application deadline for a conservation project.
