Indonesia: Corn prices rise quietly, watch meat and egg prices fly

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Domestic corn prices have been observed to be moving up. In fact, corn is one of the main raw materials for feed for broiler chickens. The Food Agency's Price Panel shows that the price of corn at the farmer level today, Monday (20/3/2023 at 16.50 WIB) has increased by IDR 60 to IDR 6,080 per kg. A week ago, March 13 2023, the price was still IDR 5,980 per kg. Surprisingly, today's price at the producer level actually decreased by IDR 20 to IDR 4,510 per kg. However, it has increased from a week ago, which is still at IDR 4,400 per kg. However, when viewed on a monthly basis, the price of dry shelled corn at the producer level in March 2023 jumped from February 2023 which was still at IDR 4,140 per kg. At the same time, today, the prices for compact breed chicken meat and eggs rose by Rp. 310 and Rp. 260, respectively, to Rp. 34,500 per kg of chicken meat and to Rp. 28,980 per kg of eggs.
