Local producers are recognized not only in Russia but also around the world. Crimean wines can replace imports on the shelves of Russian stores, TASS reported on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) by Vladimir Konstantinov, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea. According to him, Crimean-produced wine is not inferior in quality to imported wine and even surpasses it in some parameters. Konstantinov noted that winemaking in the region is actively developing, and Crimean producers are recognized not only in Russia but also "around the world." In total, Crimea occupies 15% of the entire Russian market for grapes. Moreover, the grapes grown in the republic ripen well, with a full sugar content. This is a distinctive feature of Crimea, which is not present in other regions, the expert added. "But that's not all, [in winemaking] we have room to move forward and places to grow [grapes].
