The article reports on the dynamic of dairy product prices in Poland and globally during the week of March 20-26, 2023. In Poland, the selling prices of butter, skimmed milk powder (SMP), and whole milk powder (PMP) experienced fluctuations, with year-over-year decreases. Butter prices were 22% and 21% lower for blocks and packaged, respectively, compared to the previous year. SMP and PMP prices were 28% and 16% lower than last year, respectively. Conversely, the average selling price of Edamski cheese increased by 19% year-over-year, and Gouda cheese by 16%.
Globely, the price index at the March 21, 2023, GlobalDairyTrade auction fell by 2.6% compared to the previous quotation, with over 26,800 tons of dairy products sold. Butter, Cheddar cheese, skimmed milk powder, and whole milk powder prices all decreased compared to previous sessions, with year-over-year price drops of 32%, 37%, 42%, and 30%, respectively. These decreases reflect the ongoing changes in the global dairy market.
