December warming triggered the resumption of vegetation of winter crops in a significant part of Ukraine's territory, allowing plants to even change their development phases in some places, reports "ProAgro Group". According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, extremely warm weather was observed in the second decade of December: average daily temperatures were 4-8°C higher than normal. On the warmest days, the air warmed up to +11-15°C, which is more characteristic of November rather than early winter. Such conditions maintained winter crops in a state of shallow winter dormancy, and in some regions – specifically in the southern, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Volyn regions – slow plant growth was recorded. Despite the absence of a stable snow cover as of December 20th, there is currently no threat of freezing.
