Due to the decrease in air temperatures, the Black Sea has seen an increase in demand for fish. Citizens are particularly interested in red mullet, haddock, and sea clown fish. The break in anchovy hunting has led to a higher demand for other fish species. Fisherman Emrah Cenikli mentioned that the price of red mullet is 30-48 lira, whiting is 40-47 lira, and chicory is 45 lira. Fisherman Mümin Aydemir believes that the cold weather will increase the fat content of the fish, enhancing their flavor. Osman Şişman emphasized the importance of fish to the Black Sea community and supported the interruption of anchovy hunting. He also pointed out that the prices paid to fishermen are reasonable for the challenges of their job.
