Turkey is dealing with an outbreak of bird flu, with over 1.5 million laying hens culled in Denizli and nearly 5 million in Afyonkarahisar. The affected areas are under quarantine and experiencing rising egg prices, which were previously 1.75-2 lira in January and have now doubled to 3 liras in mid-March. The union assures that the broiler field is not affected, and producers are pending compensation decisions. The Vatan Party's Head of the Farmers' Bureau, Cenk Özdemir, has addressed the situation, emphasizing the necessity of implementing necessary measures to handle the bird flu epidemic.
