In 2021, Turkey experienced a 17% increase in dried tomato exports, reaching a value of $87.3 million from 83 million in the previous year. The export volume also rose by 18% to 36,8 thousand tons from 31,2 thousand tons in 2020. These dried tomatoes, used in the food industry, particularly in pizza and pasta, were exported to 106 countries, with the USA, Italy, and Germany being the top buyers. The Aegean Region in Turkey produces 95% of the country's dried tomatoes, making it a significant global supplier.
