The coronavirus crisis has led to a decrease in meat prices in Serbia, with pork prices dropping by 10% and beef prices falling between 33% and 40% compared to last year. The supply of meat and meat products has surpassed demand, leading to losses for producers. The highest demand for meat, usually in the summer, has declined due to restrictions on exports and a decrease in local and foreign tourists. Serbia has also failed to export 5,000 tons of beef to Turkey and has limited pork supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina due to African swine fever, further exacerbating the problem.
