Due to the presence of avian influenza, a health emergency has been declared in Colombia

The decision was made by the ICA as a control measure to facilitate actions and eradicate the disease. After the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development convened a Unified Command Post with the presence of FENAVI, the Colombian Farmers' Society (SAC), the Ministry of Health, the National Institute of Health, among other entities, it was decided declare a Sanitary Emergency in the National Territory due to the presence of Avian Influenza in backyard domestic birds in order to facilitate the availability of resources, control actions and eradication of the disease through resolution No. 22990 of November 2022. With this decision, they hope that the necessary sanitary measures can be taken in any part of the country, based on the existing risk, aimed at controlling and eradicating the disease, as well as to protect the national poultry industry.
