Early varieties of corn and sorghum are the highlight at Cotrisul Field Day

The bet on early and super-early varieties of corn and sorghum was the common denominator among the companies exhibiting at the second special Field Day for Corn and Sorghum, held by Cotrisul last Tuesday, December 16, in Cachoeira do Sul. The selection of hybrids, planted in a pivot area of Agropecuária Barufaldi, composed an important panorama for the rural producers associated with the cooperative. From a deeper understanding of the characteristics of each one and the specificities of the crop, they will have more elements to plan for the summer of 2026 – 2027. As the exhibitors highlighted, with the shorter cycle varieties, both for corn and sorghum, it is possible to plan a second harvest in the same summer. “If the winter is milder and planting can occur at the end of August, it is possible to harvest in December, in time to do a second soybean crop,” argued one of the invited technicians.
