In February 2023, Ukraine experienced a significant shift in its agricultural market, with imports of certain vegetables and fruits seeing notable increases, while others decreased. Onion imports from Poland and the Netherlands surged to record levels, responding to high demand and low local supply. Carrot imports doubled due to high prices and limited availability. Conversely, imports of grapefruits and dried apricots saw a decline. The United States and Egypt increased their exports of sweet potatoes to Ukraine. This dynamic highlights the changing demand patterns in the Ukrainian market and the role of international trade in meeting these demands.
