Egg prices skyrocket after edible oil in Morocco

After table oil, egg prices are skyrocketing in Morocco. For some time, the prices of eggs have increased considerably in several regions of the Kingdom; an unexpected increase given their abundance on the market but also the drop in farm gate prices. According to Chaouki Jerrari, director of the Interprofessional Federation of the Poultry Sector (FISA), “According to information coming to us from breeders, the price of eggs at the farm has fallen this week. During the previous week, the prices (large eggs) were around 90 cents, but today they vary between 85 and 86 cents, ”he says.
