Egypt, Romania, and Germany, the largest recipients of Polish apples in 2022

The Ministry of Agriculture has published data summarizing apple exports throughout 2022. Unfortunately, it fell by 22%. Nevertheless, we see some interesting trends, there is also good news. In 2022, the total export of apples decreased by as much as 22% compared to 2021. The much weaker result is primarily the aftermath of the Belarusian embargo and problems with currency exchange in Egypt. Nevertheless, Egypt still remained the largest market for our apples, we shipped almost 96,000 tons of fruit there. According to the discussed data, in 2022 we did not export more than 100,000 tons of apples to any market, last year there were three markets in the list (Egypt, Germany and Belarus). Due to smaller shipments to Belarus (export decreased by 65%), Romania became the second largest market for Polish apples in terms of value.
