Brazil: Epagri promotes a Fruticulture Field Day in Itajaí with the launch of banana cultivars

The Epagri Experimental Station in Itajaí (EEI) is promoting this Thursday, 10th, the Fruticulture Technological Field Day. The event, which starts at 8 am and continues until 1 pm, should receive up to 150 people, including farmers, technicians and industry leaders. Six showcases will be available to visitors, which will present technologies developed by the EEI for the production of bananas, pitaya and citrus. One of the highlights will be the launch of two banana cultivars. “EEI has been conducting research on citrus and banana crops for over 40 years. More recently, research has started on the pitaya culture. Throughout its history, it has already launched at least 19 technologies in the area”, describes André Boldrin Beltrame, researcher and coordinator of fruit growing at the Station.
