Ethanol proved more competitive compared to gasoline in six states during the week of May 25 to 31. On average across the country's gas stations, ethanol had a parity of 68.10% compared to gasoline during the period, therefore favorable in comparison with the petroleum derivative, according to a survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) compiled by AE-Taxas. Sector executives observe that ethanol can be competitive even with a parity higher than 70%, depending on the vehicle in which the biofuel is used.
