In 2021, over half of Europe's pork exports were sent to China, but this figure dropped to 30.7% in the following year. Among the EU member states, Spain emerged as the leading exporter of pork to third countries with a total of 1.61 million tonnes. The Netherlands also played a significant role, exporting 859,649 tonnes of pork outside of Europe.
