Peruvian exports have seen a significant increase of 48.3% in the first half of the year, reaching US $ 24 thousand 334 million compared to the same period in 2020. This growth is primarily due to higher demand for products such as copper, gold, iron, and fishmeal. The country has experienced ten consecutive months of export growth, despite concerns over the current political situation. The traditional export sector, dominated by the mining industry, and the non-traditional sector, which includes agribusiness, experienced increases of 51.4% and 41.1%, respectively. The US, the Netherlands, Chile, and Ecuador were the top destinations for non-traditional Peruvian supplies. The trade balance for the period was positive at US $ 552 million 711 thousand.
