In 2020, Ukraine's agricultural exports to the European Union saw a decrease of 10.7%, totaling $6.7 billion, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a bird flu-related ban on Ukrainian chicken. This decline was evident across all major export categories, with the exception of sunflower oil. The majority of exports (over 80%) were grain, oilseeds, fats and oils, and processed industry residues. Ukraine reached the limits of duty-free supplies for several products, but the quotas for wheat and butter could not be exhausted.
