The Nigerian government has conducted a workshop in Kano to train farmers, exporters, and other stakeholders on international standards and procedures for exporting tomatoes, sesame seeds, and cowpea. The workshop was led by the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), in collaboration with other organizations. The training focused on good crop management, post-harvest handling, value addition, and packaging to meet international standards and retain nutritional quality. The initiative aims to boost Nigeria's gross domestic product and generate foreign exchange revenue by improving the export of these crops.
