Food prices rose 3.4 percent from February last year, following an annualized 3.9 percent in January. A quick bulletin on consumer prices from the Central Statistical Office (CSO) shows that the prices of cooking oil, fresh domestic and regional fruits and tobacco have risen significantly over the past year. Over the past twelve months, compared to February 2020, the price of cooking oil increased by 25.1 percent, sugar by 9.9 percent, workplace meals by 8.0 percent, honey by 7.5 percent, flour by 7.1 percent, and seasonally priced foods.
