Italy's made-in-food exports have experienced a historic high growth of 11.2% in 2021, as per Coldiretti's analysis of Istat data, with projections reaching a record-breaking €50 billion. This success is seen despite the pandemic's impact on the catering industry and the shift towards home cooking. The United States and Germany are among the leading importers, showing significant growth, while the UK experiences a decline due to Brexit. China's import of Italian food has seen a dramatic increase of 57.7%. Ettore Prandini, President of Coldiretti, emphasizes the potential for the agri-food industry to boost Italy's economy and calls for improvements in infrastructure to enhance competitiveness.
