A total of 6,512 free mulberry saplings will be distributed to farmers in Elazig, Turkey, who are involved in or planning to start silkworm breeding. This initiative is part of the 'Revival of Silkworm Breeding and Silk Weaving Project in Elazig Province' by the Silkworm Breeding Executive Committee in collaboration with the Elazig Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The project aims to cultivate at least 500 boxes of silkworms, yielding 18,000 kilograms of cocoons, which have a ready market. The distribution of around 41,000 mulberry saplings over the past two years and the plan to give away an additional 50,000 saplings demonstrate the project's commitment to supporting farmers and meeting national silk fiber needs.
