Farmers in Chunwang Rural Municipality-9, a region known for garlic production in Rukum 9-East, Nepal, are facing issues with low market prices for their produce. They are seeking a price of Rs 100 per kg, more than twice the market rate of Rs 50-60 per kg, but[INST] due to lack of demand at that price, they are left with surplus garlic stocks. As a result, farmers are experiencing reduced production and financial losses. The area has seen an increase in garlic production, reaching 432,350 metric tons this year, a rise of 12.13% from the previous year, covering 72 hectares of land.
