Goiás moves 1.15 billion liters of milk in the first half of the year

According to the October edition of the monthly report “Agro em Dados,” prepared by the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Goiás (Seapa), milk production in the state maintained its relevance in the national scenario in the first half of 2025. Data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) indicate that Goiás produced 1.15 billion liters, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Nationwide, the volume reached 13 billion liters, with a growth of 6.9%. Despite the expansion, the report points out that the increase in supply has been putting pressure on the prices paid to producers. In July 2025, the average national value recorded by the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea) was R$ 2.54 per liter. “The scenario reinforces the importance of management strategies aimed at the efficiency of production costs,” the publication informs.
