The government of Tanzania develops sunflower production guide and calendar

The Agricultural Market Development Trust (AMDT) has facilitated the process by covering necessary resources required to work on the guide and calendar. Interviewed recently in Morogoro, AMDT Executive Officer Charles Ogutu said the guide is developed by the government and all research experts in the country. It will guide farmers, investors, extension officers and other stakeholders in the value chain on how to successfully venture into sunflower and how to address challenges such as pests and diseases. The guide is targeted to reach and enhance knowledge on smallholder farmers, extension officers all over the country so that it is something they can refer to, all the times. “Sunflower is one of the important agricultural commodities.
