Honey farming has become a profitable venture for many in Bangladesh, especially in the Barind region of Rajshahi and other districts. Native bee species honey has a high demand and market price. The Department of Agriculture Extension motivates farmers to engage in honey bee rearing, which aids in crop fertilization. However, honey farmers require more technological support, financial assistance, and a proper marketing system. The article highlights the success stories of farmers like Shasthi Paharia and Ashraful Islam Sumon, who have made significant profits from honey harvesting. The article also anticipates a substantial mustard yield of 2.81 lakh tons from two lakh hectares of lands in all eight districts under Rajshahi division during the current Rabi season. In Faridpur, at least 3,000 honey collection boxes have been set up beside mustard fields, with an expected honey collection of 14,000 kg.
