The Agronomic Institute (IAC) of Brazil has introduced three new sugarcane varieties, IACSP04-6007, IACCTC05-2562, and IACCTC05-9561, to the sugar-energy sector, promising high productivity, sucrose content, and disease resistance. These varieties are designed for various environments and are expected to enhance sugarcane plantation productivity in São Paulo and other Brazilian states. The new varieties offer different adaptations and productivity levels, with 6007 being more versatile and 9561 showing better mechanization qualities. The introduction of these new varieties is part of a strategy to diversify cane fields and maximize regional niche potential.
