Transporters and passengers have been stranded for three days on the South Pan-American Highway, in the section that runs through the province of Nasca, Ica region, due to the road blockade maintained by mining producers and artisanal miners since last Friday night. An RPP team arrived at km. 447 of the aforementioned highway and verified that a long line of approximately 2,000 interprovincial transport buses and heavy cargo vehicles - from regions such as Moquegua, Arequipa, Puno, and Tacna - extends for at least 2 km, with drivers and users aboard units that are prevented from advancing normally. In turn, vehicles coming from Lima or Ica heading south are moving very slowly, because protesters give momentary truces to their show of force.
