Hungary: If necessary, spray deer rice with drones

Specialists from the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences and ABZ Drone started new experiments with special drones at the Galambosi Rice Experimental Plant in Békés County. The main goal is to be able to use the eyes of drones to assess in detail the current state of developing rice stalks and to show as soon as possible where epidemic browning affecting rice fields may occur. Test results have been reported recently. MATE's 15-hectare Galambosi Rice Experiment Farm has a unique infrastructure that is specifically suited for rice variety maintenance and field experiments. One of the main goals of the active research work here is to produce high-quality propagating material of state-recognized rice varieties with advantageous properties and to find a solution to the problems that Hungarian rice growers may face.
